One of our strongest values here on Learning4kids is improving the lives of children through education. As a Mum and a Teacher, this is something that I feel very passionate about.
In support of a great charity that also supports educational assistance and integration of children in need, I am sharing this information with you.
Variety is all about empowering Australian kids in need. It is an amazing not-for-profit children’s charity committed to enriching the lives of Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have a special need. Their work allows children to gain mobility and freedom, to get out and about in the community, be able to communicate, achieve independence and increase self-esteem and where possible the assistance to help them be integrated into mainstream school and activities.
With the help of dedicated volunteers and generous individual and corporate supporters, Variety Australia is able to offer three core programs: freedom, care and future.
Freedom program – through equipment providing mobility to those who need it most
Care for Kids program – through the provision of medical assistance and family support, and
Future Kids program – by supporting children in educational, sporting or artistic endeavours and experiences.
In 2011 Nurofen donated $50,000 to Variety, and with their support again in 2012, they hope to do even more for children in need. THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN HELP – For every LIKE on Nurofen Australia’s Facebook Page, Nurofen will donate $1 to Variety. How easy is that!!
So head to the Nurofen Facebook Page and give them the ‘thumbs up’ so they can give more money to Variety, who gives to kids in need and while you are there help spread the word and share this great cause with your friends and family.
My name is Janice and I am an Australian Pre-Primary Early Childhood Teacher (5 and 6 Year olds). I have a Bachelor of Education (Primary Education) and Graduate Certificate of Early Childhood Education.
I have a strong passion and love for teaching and creating meaningful learning experiences for my students. What I love most is watching children discover in those amazing light bulb moments. I hope Learning4kids brings you some useful ideas.
